Kathleen R. Gillis, PsyD
Dr. Gillis is a psychologist licensed to practice in Oregon and Washington.
Dr. Gillis earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University in 2005, her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacific University in 2001, and her Bachelor's Degree in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Oregon in 1987.
Dr. Gillis is in private practice in Multnomah Village in Portland, Oregon. She provides in-person and telehealth services.
Dr. Gillis’ primary areas of expertise include all aspects of divorce and post-divorce adjustment; as well adult relationship issues, parent-child relationships (especially fathers and teens), parenting, interpersonal abuse, developing and maintaining healthy attachment relationships, life transitions, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and stress reduction.
Additional areas of expertise include grief and loss, sports psychology, the interaction between physiological and psychological health., and the neuropsychological and psychological effects of trauma
Dr. Gillis has conducted extensive research on language and memory in adults and neuropsychological functioning in adolescents. She also has experience as a special education teacher.
Dr. Gillis is the Founding President Emeritus for the AFCC Oregon Chapter (Association of Family and Conciliation Courts). She is also involved with the Oregon Association of Collaborative Professionals, and enjoys studying the application of psychology within the legal field.
In her spare time, Dr. Gillis enjoys hiking, swimming, biking, skiing, gardening, cooking, reading, listening to jazz music, spending time with family and friends, and cheering for her favorite sports team.
